The NOAA Employees Association (NEA) is a non-profit organization which provides social interaction for employees from the National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL), the Storm Prediction Center (SPC), the NWS Norman Forecast Office (WFO OUN), Radar Operations Center (ROC), Warning and Decision Training Branch (WDTB), Cooperative Institute for Mesoscale Meteorological Studies (CIMMS), and their families and friends, and provides a better working environment for employees at NSSL, SPC, WFO OUN, ROC, WDTB and CIMMS.

The NEA has sponsored annual events such as the Winter Holiday dinner, a Halloween party, the NEA Chili Cookoff, a July summer picnic, and an October golf tournament. The NEA also sends flowers to hospitalized employees and members of their immediate families. The NEA has donated money to charitable organizations or plants for funeral services in memory of passing NEA employees and members of their immediate families, as well as members of the Norman meteorological community. The NEA maintains various concessions including shirts, hats, severe weather photographs, and other items.
