The NOAA Employees Association (NEA) is a non-profit organization which provides social interaction for employees from the National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL), the Storm Prediction Center (SPC), the NWS Norman Forecast Office (WFO OUN), Radar Operations Center (ROC), Warning and Decision Training Branch (WDTB), Cooperative Institute for Mesoscale Meteorological Studies (CIMMS), and their families and friends, to enhance the work environment. The NEA also conducts community service activities that support the local area

The NEA has sponsored or assisted in events such as Winter Holiday dinners, trick-or-treat festivities at Halloween, chili cookoffs, soup kitchens, ice cream socials, summer picnics, and golf tournaments. The NEA also sends flowers to hospitalized employees and members of their immediate families. The NEA has donated money to charitable organizations or plants for funeral services in memory of passing NEA employees and members of their immediate families, as well as members of the Norman meteorological community.
